Annatto is a natural orange-red condiment and food coloring derived from the seeds of the achiote tree (Bixa orellana). It is often used to impart a yellow or orange color to foods, but sometimes also for its flavor and aroma. Its scent is described as "slightly peppery with a hint of nutmeg" and flavor as "slightly nutty, sweet and peppery".
The color of annatto comes from various carotenoid pigments, mainly bixin and norbixin, found in the reddish waxy coating of the seeds. The condiment is typically prepared by grinding the seeds to a powder or paste. Similar effects can be obtained by extracting some of the color and flavor principles from the seeds with hot water, oil, or lard, which are then added to the food.
Annatto and its extracts are now widely used on an artisanal or industrial scale as a coloring agent in many processed food products, such as cheeses, dairy spreads, butter and margarine, custards, cakes and other baked goods, potatoes, snack foods, breakfast cereals, smoked fish, sausages, tomato paste, and more. In these uses, annatto is a natural alternative to synthetic food coloring compounds.
Annatto is of particular commercial value in the United States because the Food and Drug Administration considers colorants derived from it to be "exempt from certification". The annatto tree B. orellana is believed to originate from Brazil. It was probably not initially used as a food additive, but for other purposes such as ritual and decorative body painting (still an important tradition in many Brazilian native tribes), sunscreen, and insect repellent.
The Cashew tree (Anacardium Occidentale) is a tropical evergreen native to the Americas but is now widely cultivated in Asia and Africa. Griffonia simplicifolia is a stout, woody, climbing shrub growing to about 3m with greenish flowers and inflated black pods. The seeds contain substantial quantities of the amino acid, 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). Today, the seed of this climbing shrub is used in the treatment of fibromyalgia, headaches, insomnia, depression, and stomach problems. We export Griffonia.
The Griffonia Simplicifolia plant grows wild in several regions of the African continent, including West and Central Africa. There are few Griffonia Simplicifolia dangers recorded historically. The leaves and crushed seeds of the plant have been used safely as a folk medicine for as many as thousands of years. Either taken as a soothing tea or consumed orally in stronger doses, Griffonia seeds are known to produce relaxing mood effects, calm stress, help sleep, and ease digestion. In the West, we rarely see Griffonia Simplicifolia sold in seed form. However, the active compound within the seeds, 5-HTP, has recently become quite popular as a standalone supplement.

Gum arabic, also known as acacia gum, is a natural gum consisting of the hardened sap of various species of the acacia tree. It is primarily collected from two related species, namely Acacia senegal and Vachellia (Acacia) seyal.
Producers harvest the gum commercially from wild trees. Gum arabic is a complex mixture of glycoproteins and polysaccharides. It is the original source of the sugars arabinose and ribose, both of which were first discovered and isolated from it, and are named after it.
Gum arabic is used primarily in the food industry as a stabilizer. It is edible and has E number E414. It is also used in traditional lithography, printing, paint production, glue, cosmetics, and various industrial applications, including viscosity control in inks and the textile industry.
While gum arabic is now produced throughout the African Sahel, it is still harvested and used in the Middle East. For example, Arab populations use the natural gum to make a chilled, sweetened, and flavored gelato-like dessert.
Moringa oil is extracted from the seeds of Moringa oleifera, also known as the Drumstick tree. It is commonly referred to as Ben oil due to its high content of behenic acid. Moringa oil has been used for various industrial applications and is highly beneficial for topical use on the skin and hair. It is also a popular cooking oil with a soft and appealing taste.
In addition to Moringa oil, we also offer Baobab and Nim oils.
Moringa oil is extracted from the seeds of Moringa oleifera, a tree native to the Himalayan foothills. The tree produces long pods that contain the seeds, which are rich in nutrients, including high levels of B vitamins and Vitamin C. The oil can be extracted through cold pressing or solvent extraction. Various varieties of Moringa oil are available, each with slight differences in nutrition and properties.
Moringa oil possesses several therapeutic properties due to its unique nutrition:
Rubber is an elastic substance obtained from the exudations of certain tropical plants, known as natural rubber, or derived from petroleum and natural gas, known as synthetic rubber. It is widely used due to its elasticity, resilience, and toughness. Rubber is a fundamental component of tires used in automotive vehicles, aircraft, and bicycles. More than half of all rubber produced is used in automobile tires, while the rest is utilized in mechanical parts such as mountings, gaskets, belts, and hoses, as well as consumer products like shoes, clothing, furniture, and toys.

Voacanga africana is a small tropical African tree known for its various uses.
Key Information:
Medicinal Uses:
Some of the compounds found in Voacanga africana have pharmaceutical uses. Voacangine, in particular, is of interest as it serves as a precursor in the semi-synthesis of the anti-addiction medication ibogaine. While small amounts of ibogaine are present in Voacanga Africana root bark, they are not found in sufficient quantities for significant medicinal purposes.
